1973 Buffet Crampon R13A Clarinet W/ Valentino Master's Overhaul!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13A clarinet in nickel. Note that this is in the key of A rather than Bb. S/n 144XXX makes this 1973—right in the sweet spot of Buffet’s Golden Era and just a couple years before their 150th anniversary. This one is in excellent condition:  wood is a heavy billet of vintage, aged grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks or repairs.  Tenons are nice and square with no wobble between joints. Plating is about 97% with just a very little bit of wear mostly on some key posts and the tips of some spatulas.  Best of all, this is just through the shop in September, 2026 where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, had the register pip removed and sealed, thumb tube sealed, had a new middle tenon cork installed, and was repadded with Valentino Master’s Series white synthetic pads—one of the quietest, most reliable pads available. Plays with a full, moderately dark tone with a solid core, little resistance and an even, soft touch to the key work. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will NOT be shipped, but it does include a new ProTec microfiber cloth and a new SuperSlick chamois swab. As mouthpieces are such a personal preference, we do have hundreds available separately and are happy to combine shipping. All in an oversized, vintage Leblanc double case with internal music storage, and a classy leather zippered cover with external zippered pocket. (If you’d rather have a Buffet or ProTec case, we likely have those available for a small up charge.)
