Yamaha YSL-353 1980 tenor trombone. Rose Brass Bell.

This is a .500 Yamaha trombone with similar specs to the well-known ysl-356, but with a rose brass bell. These were copies of the Conn 6h, and they maintain similar specs to those horns. This one has been one of my favorite horns for gigs, because the rose brass bell lights up when you lean on it in a way that a yellow brass bell does not. It is in very good playing condition.

As you can see from the pictures, there is some very minor pitting on the stockings, and the lacquer on both the slide crook and the tuning slide crook is a bit blotchy, but the bell is absolutely gorgeous. The slide falls easily when held at the 4:00 position and has no hang ups or snags.

I'm not sure if the exact year since Yamaha does not date by serial number.

It comes in a Holton case which fits an exceptionally well, which is no surprise since Yamaha was building many of Holton's horns during this era.
