Hand-built boutique tube preamp from Coil Audio — the standalone single-channel CA-70S (MK2). Based on the two-stage Western Electric circuit from 1913 that RCA, Gates, and Langevin all built on, with Coil's custom CT110HN and CT41 transformers and the same high-end components found in their larger PS6 modules.
It puts real weight and dimension on a source — vocals, electric guitar, bass, drums, room — the kind of finished, already-mixed tone that's hard to get any other way.
Self-powered standalone unit, no external rack or PSU required. Input and output gain, phase reverse, 4-position input pad, plus Coil's Negative Feedback and Low switches for shaping brighter or darker and tightening or filling the low end.
Please note: no phantom power on board. Ideal for dynamic, ribbon, and tube mics, or line-level sources. Coil sells a standalone phantom unit if you need it.
Selling because I'm consolidating my front end around the main studio's chain.
