1994 Fender Telecaster with an incredible history — signed by both LES PAUL and DICKEY BETTS, with provenance connecting this guitar to multiple legendary musicians.

There are vintage guitars, there are guitars with a story, and then there are guitars like this one.

This 1994 Telecaster was purchased directly from its previous owner, a professional musician from the Sarasota, Florida area who lived next door to Dickey Betts. According to the previous owner, the guitar was played by several notable musicians over the years, including:

• Dickey Betts
• Jeff Beck
• Chris Anderson (formerly of The Outlaws)

The guitar is also personally signed by Dickey Betts and Les Paul, with additional faded signatures from John Hammond and James Peterson.

And this isn't simply a guitar with signatures that appeared out of nowhere.

The sale includes the original photograph of Les Paul signing this very guitar, taken at James Peterson's "One Stop Inn" in Tampa. That photograph will be included with the guitar and provides an incredible piece of provenance for one of the most important signatures on the instrument.

A Guitar That Was There

This Telecaster has been played.

It has the honest wear you would expect from a guitar that spent decades being used by working musicians rather than sitting safely in a collection. There are dings, scratches, finish wear and other signs of its history throughout the instrument.

But that's exactly what makes this guitar so compelling.

The wear isn't artificially created relic work — it's decades of real life, real stages, real musicians and real use.

Every mark is part of the guitar's story.

This isn't being presented as a pristine collector-condition 1994 Telecaster. It's being offered as something considerably more unusual: a vintage Fender with a documented and fascinating musical history, multiple significant signatures, and a photograph connecting it directly to Les Paul.

The Signatures

The guitar currently bears signatures attributed to:

  • Les Paul
  • Dickey Betts
  • John Hammond — faded
  • James Peterson — faded

The Dickey Betts and Les Paul signatures are the most prominent, while the older/faded signatures from Hammond and Peterson are still visible.

The included photograph of Les Paul signing the guitar will accompany the sale.

A Truly Unique Piece of Guitar History

For the player, it's a 1994 Telecaster with decades of honest road wear.

For the collector, it's a guitar with an extraordinary chain of ownership and musical associations.

For the fan of Southern rock, blues, and American guitar history, it's a piece connected to some remarkable names.

And for someone who appreciates guitars with stories...

It's hard to imagine a better one.

I have owned and handled a number of interesting guitars, but this is one of those instruments where the history is what makes it special. The next owner won't simply be buying another Telecaster — they'll be taking ownership of a guitar with a story that goes far beyond the instrument itself.

Condition / Important Note

Please study all photos carefully. This guitar has cosmetic wear consistent with decades of use and gigging. There are numerous dings, scratches, finish wear and other signs of age and use.

That said, this is an honest, genuine-looking vintage instrument whose condition is consistent with the story it carries.

I have included detailed photographs so you can make your own assessment of the condition.

All reasonable offers considered.

This is a very unusual opportunity to own a 1994 Fender Telecaster with signatures from Les Paul and Dickey Betts, additional historic signatures, an incredible musician provenance story, and — most importantly — a photograph of Les Paul actually signing this guitar.

If you're looking for a guitar that has more to tell than simply what year it was made, this one deserves a very close look.

The photograph of Les Paul signing the guitar is included with the sale.
