Vintage Selmer New York Handmade Sterling Flute Soldered Toneholes Plays Great *THE BEST*

This lovely flute is, regrettably, from our personal collection. It is THE BEST SELMER HANDMADE FLUTE we've come across in our 23 years of buying and selling. It deserves to be played and is absolutely fantastic. The handmade Selmer flutes were essentially Selmer's version of a Haynes Commercial flute. This flute is a vintage Selmer New York made entirely of solid sterling silver with gold springs. The keywork is closed hole (aka plateau) with Y arms, inline G (yes - closed hole AND inline G), closed G#, Bb trill and C foot. The toneholes are soldered. The pads are older but in overall great shape and this flute plays great throughout all registers. This flute HAS NOT been serviced but a servicing will result in an even more fabulous instrument! The tone is crisp yet rich, offering a variety of tonal colors sure to please most players. The crown is ornate and weighted (10 grams) and more French in style vs American. The included case is plastic, unmarked, with a handle and some vintage Jesus stickers that are faded (retro!) which houses this flute safely. The headjoint tenon is slightly out of round and has not been adjusted - see photo.

Wall thickness is measuring thin wall at 0.012in (0.30mm). This flute is pitched in C at 440hz.
