Wonderful piece of gear, if you're searching for that 70's analogue sound, look no further. Great for tracking live and produced elements. Beautifully crunchy and thick when pushed into the red. I used it once or twice in a smoke free studio. Was hoping to master to tape with it, but it didn't suit my workflow so it's time for a new home.

The deck was calibrated when I received it but I'd recommend a tune-up after shipping. Power inlet has been changed to a standard IEC power inlet for your convenience.

I'll also throw in some extra 1/4" tape including a once used reel of SM911.

Description:

This was THE recorder to own for your home studio in the 1970’s. An updated version of the 1972 A 3340 with new electronics for low-noise tapes, the A 3340S was a three-motor, 2-speed 4-track recorder with ‘Simul-Sync’ record heads. Simul Sync allowed each of the four tracks to record separately whilst monitoring any of the others (using the record head instead of the playback head to monitor the existing tracks, thus negating the time delay that the playback heads would have produced). Bias and EQ switches were provided for normal or SLH tapes, full mixing facilities were available with 4 mic and 4 line inputs, a stereo/quad switch allowed regular stereo tapes to be played and two headphone outputs were supplied. This definitive 4-track deck sold well throughout the 1970’s and was still available in 1980.
