Yamaha is a renowned brand that has supported the Japanese guitar industry since its early days.
This instrument is the RBX 6JM, a signature model of John Myung, bassist of Dream Theater.
The body top is made of beautiful figured maple, and the body back is made of alder.
The neck is a laminated type, made by bonding together three pieces of beautiful quarter-sawn maple.
This technique of bonding multiple pieces of wood together to create the neck reduces left-right and individual differences, resulting in greater stability.
The ebony fingerboard is jet black and rarely used these days due to its rarity.
The beautiful inlays, as you can see, are exclusive to this model.
The pickup is an original Double Coil.
It features a tight, powerful sound with a strong core, characteristic of Yamaha, and boasts a wide range and fast response that can handle technical playing, as is typical of a 6-string bass.
The preamp is also original.
This bass offers excellent playability and features a tight, powerful sound characteristic of Yamaha.
Many Yamaha basses manufactured in Taiwan during this period leave a truly positive impression.
The frets have approximately 90% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork show some small dents and scratches. The headstock paint is discolored from sun exposure.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were observed.
