For many people, this is likely the first model that comes to mind when they think of acrylic-bodied guitars.

Born in the late 1960s, this guitar gained popularity thanks to its use by various artists and has been cherished by countless guitarists ever since.

The model we’ve just received is a reissue of that iconic “Lucite” guitar—a 1998 model made in Japan.

Unique design elements are incorporated not only into the body but also in various other parts of the instrument.

Above all, the fact that the pickups are extremely easy to replace is a feature you can’t overlook. Simply remove the screws on the back of the body and slide the pickups out to remove them.

Of course, installation is just the reverse of this process. Since these are specialized pickups, not just any pickup will work, but this design remains extremely rare even today.

It currently comes equipped with “Modern Drive” pickups, but two replacement pickups are also included.

One is the highly popular “Rock Treble,” and the other is a Kent Armstrong humbucker.

The 3-way toggle switch allows you to select the tone control’s effect.

In the center position, the tone control is bypassed, delivering a direct sound. Toggling it to the left (up when holding the guitar) applies a mild high-cut filter.

If you drive the signal with the tone control fully rolled back in this position, you’ll get a sound reminiscent of a wah pedal set to half-off—which is incredibly interesting.

Toggling it to the opposite side applies an even deeper high-cut filter.

This is a see-through black model—an even rarer find among an already rare series. Don’t miss this opportunity!

[Condition]

It shows signs of wear appropriate for its age, with minor scratches visible in various places.

There are some small cracks around the jack on the pickguard, but this does not affect its current playability.

Removing the pickguard exposes the neck, which is marked “ADAG1.” Given the color, it’s presumed to be an ADAG-2, so it’s likely that this neck was swapped in.

The truss rod is currently functioning properly.

Perhaps because it wasn’t played very often, about 70–80% of the frets remain intact.

The bridge is not fully secured and moves, so a mark has been made with a pen to indicate its approximate position.
