Yamaha FG-150 1966 - Natural

1966 Yamaha FG-150 acoustic guitar, VINTAGE GREEN LABEL. This is one of the earliest FG-series guitars, built at Yamaha’s Terry factory in Hamamatsu, Japan, during the first production period of the FG-150.

These rare early green-label models were manufactured for the Japanese domestic market and were not originally made for export.

This guitar is completely original, and the Spruce top has toned to a beautiful honey-gold. It has understandable and nice player wear especially on the top just beyond the pickguard from strumming but only adds to its charm. Other than routine string changes This Yamaha is completely original all the way down to the wooden strap button at the bottom bout. It is a genuine player’s guitar with a beautiful sound and a comfortable feel and wonderful neck. This is a fine example of a used 60 year old 1966 first year Yamaha FG-150 and examples of this guitar are getting hard to find.

Condition and features:

• Very good condition playing and sounding 1966 FG-150

• Original Nippon Gakki green label.

• Spruce top

• Rosewood fretboard

• Agathis back and sides

• Original Yamaha tuning machines, all functioning properly

• Original headstock faceplate in very nice condition

• “YAMAHA” on the front of the headstock

• “MADE IN JAPAN” on the back

• Neck remains true

• Truss rod

• Frets in very good shape

• Bridge is firmly attached.

• Original decorative wooden strap button on the bottom bout.

There is honest play wear in the finish, as should be expected on a 60-year-old player’s guitar. There are no observed cracks in the wood beyond surface wear.
