From the collection of legendary drum technician Paul “Jamo” Jamieson, this is a rare late-1980s, Made-in-Japan Tama Artwood AW546 6.5x14" maple snare drum featuring Tama's Gladstone-inspired three-way tuning system.

Inspired by the legendary snare drums of Billy Gladstone, the unusual PAT30 tuning system allows the player to adjust the batter head, resonant head, or both heads from the top of the drum. This example includes its special 3-way tuning key, an important accessory that is frequently missing from surviving examples.

10 Gladstone-style tuning assemblies, heavy die-cast chrome hoops and Tama strainer. Beyond its fascinating mechanical design, this is simply a terrific-sounding maple snare with plenty of body, sensitivity and projection.

This drum came directly from Paul “Jamo” Jamieson's collection and shows a few minor scuffs and normal signs of use — along with, as Donn and Jamo put it, “some magic Jamo dust.” Overall it remains in excellent condition and is an exceptionally cool piece of Tama history.

Comes with "Jamo" hard case and a certificate of authenticity signed by Donn and Jamo.
