1995 Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 4H, Birdseye Maple, Seymour Duncan
1995 Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 4H with a beautifully figured birdseye maple neck. It weighs approximately 8.6 lbs.
The pickup has been upgraded to a Seymour Duncan Alnico 5 three coil pickup, and it sounds awesome in this bass. It has a big, warm tone with plenty of depth, while the active EQ can be adjusted for more upper end crispness and clarity. It is a versatile setup that retains the punch and character these older Sterlings are known for.
The bass is currently set up with La Bella Low Tension Flats. It plays well, the electronics work properly, and the truss rod turns freely.
Additional details:
• Output jack and string mutes replaced in 2025 with genuine EBMM parts
• Dunlop Straplok buttons installed
• Original Music Man case included
• Case latches work properly and provide good neck support
This is a well played instrument with several dings and signs of use, including one along the edge of the neck and others on the headstock and body.
The neck ding is difficult to see in the photo. It shows mainly as a slightly darker area of wood compared with the surrounding finish.
Please review the photos closely for overall condition.
The bass and original case have a bar smoke smell, which I personally like, but some buyers may be sensitive to it. The smell fades after the bass has been left out in the open air for several weeks, but returns if the bass is stored in the original case again.
The case has a cracked corner, as pictured, although all of the latches work and it still provides good neck support.
