Checked out by a technician.

Cosmetic condition is good. Listed as "Fair" because it turns on, the mixer sections and electronics work, I've tested each channel with an input source routed to the various output sources and they all work.

The VU meters work as intended and all the pots work to best of my knowledge, I tested each one (turned it with sounds sources connected) and they all seem to work as far as I can tell.

I have a Video demonstrating me testing it to help you better understand what I know about the unit.

What doesn't work is the tape deck section, it's been looked at by a technician and they determined the belts need to be replaced (common for this age and device) but further than that I can't say as I haven't had it serviced fully. It will need to be serviced by your technician.

It turns on fine and the tape motor runs continuously when turned on, probably because the belts need to be replaced as when you click the stop button without belts it has no way to stop the motors I think so It sounds like the play button is locked in play. I deduced this by talking to the technician briefly and watching the videos (linked below).

I spent money on a technician getting it checked out but I'm not willing to spend more on getting it refurbished and the belts replaced and the play button fixed (their hourly is $120 and I'm not willing to pay that right now).

I was told and agree that it's better that the buyer gets a technician to fix it as that clears up any possible confusion in the future.

I probably won't use this unit as it doesn't fit into my workflow. You will have to invest time and money with a technician to get it working properly, or you can do it yourself by following the video course below and save money. Depending on how much time and enthusiasm you have.

Here's a video I found online about replacing the belts incase you're interested to see what's involved.
