The story goes that Grandpa down in Mississippi was a local semi-professional guitar player getting up in age, decided to fill his bucket list towards the end by binge purchasing all the guitars and amplifiers he ever wanted. His family was quite surprised that he had so many, and some of them he never even really got to play very much as he had so many.

When the family went south from Detroit here for the funeral and clearing out his house and belongings, they only had so much room in their vehicles. No one in the family was a musician and they not knowing, left behind many things like guitar cases, paperwork, and other instruments, etc. that would not fit. Hence, the 6-7 guitars they brought to my shop so far had no cases or certificates.

Here we have a very rare 2016 Gibson J-45 early 60's reissue from Gibson's Historical Custom Shop. It is from a limited 2016 run of maybe 75 to 100 made. The guitar is quite unigue from the many J-45s I have sold in the past 50 plus years.

Overall in very good clean condition with a look of being almost new. Cosmetically it has some light blemishes and a 1/2 inch scratch on the top or 2 but nothing serious maybe some light pickguard scratches. The 2 piece top seam looks like a crack but is not and has no movement. I took it to my luthier just to make sure.

I cleaned and seasoned the rosewood fretboard an installed a set of Ernie Ball ,12-.54 strings bronze wound strings and the Gold Grovers tuner her right up. Very pleased with the outcome and TONE.

We are having and have had a lot of fun here at Gordy's Music! I was just remembering about 35 years ago a tour bus pulled up to our little shop, and who rolls right in and hangs out for an hour? Lenny Kravitz and his entire group, right about the same time I was selling many guitars to and chauffeuring around Dee Dee Ramone who had an apartment a block down from my house.
