The Korg Volca Drum is a highly versatile, 6-part digital percussion synthesizer that eschews traditional sample playback in favor of DSP-powered analog modeling. Instead of cycling through static PCM samples of kicks or snares, it leverages oscillators, noise generators, wave folders, and physical modeling to let you design unique, glitchy, and experimental electronic textures.

Sound Architecture & Engine

• 6 Identical Parts: Unlike traditional drum machines with locked slots, every one of the 6 parts features the exact same fully flexible engine. You can build a kit made of 6 custom kicks, 6 cymbals, or melodic bass lines.
• 2-Layer Structure: Each individual drum part is comprised of up to two independent sound layers. Each layer can be assigned its own source waveform (Sine, Saw, or one of 3 filtered Noise oscillators) and its own envelope.
• Waveguide Resonator: A standout global physical modeling effect that passes the master signal through a simulated physical object. It features Tube (simulating a cylindrical pipe or drum shell) and String (metallic string resonance) modes to inject industrial metallic harmonics, realistic acoustic depth, or wild self-oscillating feedback into your beats.
• Advanced Step Effects: Includes a step-specific Slice function for programming intricate fills, ratchet repetitions, or instant drum rolls on individual steps.
