Vintage Acoustic Control Corp Model 125, 2x12 Combo Amp - 1970’s Made In USA

For sale here is a vintage Acoustic Control Corp Model 125, 2x12 combo amp, made in USA in Southern California during the 1970’s. It is in great condition with only a few marks on the tolex, some scratches on the metal corners, but overall very good condition.

This is one of the few ACC amp models to feature a master volume control, making it a good amp for both clean and overdriven tones. It also has graphic EQ that can boost and cut frequencies from 70Hz on the low side up to 2000Hz on the high side, making it good for both bass and guitar use. On the back panel, you have Preamp Out and Power Amp In, so that you can route the preamp or power amp into an additional unit, giving you the ability to mix and match preamps/poweramps from multiple sources. There is also a speaker output jack there so you could use the amp with a different cab if you want.

I believe this amp has the original speakers, they look correct and the speaker stamps seem to indicate a 1977 manufacture date which would be spot on for this amp model. The cab is rigid plywood construction and very heavy, this thing is rock solid. It does not have casters as those did not come on it originally, but you could add some to help move it around. Tolex is in great shape with only a few small marks. There is one section on the inside that is ripped but the outside is all looking great.

Everything sounds good on this amp, all controls work as they should. One of the EQ sliders is slightly bent but it does not affect the performance. A tiny bit of scratchiness in a couple of the pots but that is easily fixed by a little electronic cleaner spray in the pots. Reverb sounds great and springy. I do not have the footswitch so I could not test the footswitch functionality. This amp has clearly not seen a ton of action so it’s in very nice condition overall, see the photos to see the condition.
