Selling a rare Bison Drum Company maple snare in natural finish.
Bison drums were built in the USA and are known for their unusual construction, proprietary hardware and heavy-duty design. This example features a natural maple shell, Bison's distinctive lug system and cast alloy hoops.
The drum was used as part of a professional studio drum collection and is in good used condition. It shows normal cosmetic signs of use consistent with a working studio instrument. Please see photos for condition.
Bison snares are relatively uncommon today and were built very differently from conventional production snares. Their maple-shell drums were designed around Bison's unique hardware and high-tension construction, making these an interesting piece both as a recording instrument and for collectors of unusual American-made drums.
The drum is being sold as pictured. Head shows use and may be replaced according to the buyer's preference.
