Small Musikalia gypsy jazz guitar, produced in the mid-1950s.
This is one of the handcrafted instruments from Musikalia's original workshop in Catania, Sicily. It was there that Di Mauro, Bucolo, and Busato went on to found the Paris school of jazz guitar making after the war.
It features a thick, solid spruce top, mahogany/maple laminate back and sides, a maple neck, a rosewood center brace, and a rosewood fingerboard. The nut width is 43mm, the scale length is 650mm, has zero fret and is fitted with new Savarez Argentine 1510MF strings.
Light as a feather, with great sustain and a bright, snappy tone, and a simple finish, it's a true "roots" gypsy jazz guitar.
