A CLASSIC MARTIN DREADNOUGHT DESIGN MADE IN JAPAN.

DETAILS: WHEN WAS IT MADE? While it is practically impossible to determine the year of Martin Sigma guitars, this does have a big clue in the "football" shaped imprint found inside the soundhole. Combine this fact with the serial number starting with 135 (last three digits have been shaded), and this evidence puts this guitar solidly in the very late 1970s / early 1980s period, with the date of manufacture being no later than 1980 at the most.

CONDITION: VERY GOOD. The guitar is in great shape structurally, with no breaks or repairs. There are some visible marks on the top, which I have tried to show in the close-up photos. There is also a handful of the usual marks on the back, but the marks are light and difficult to see in a photo. If you need more photos, PLEASE ASK - I will be happy to provide them. The usual strum marks on the pickguard, but no "trenches" around the pickguard like you sometimes see with guitars that have been played hard.

There is some lighter-than-average fret wear (see close-up photo of the fretboard), but the guitar plays great with no fret rattle. There is also some inconsistency in the color of the headstock on the front - it's not very noticeable, but I thought I should mention it.

A non-original strap button has been added to the heel of the neck, and there is a hole on the back of the heel where a strap was once located (see photos).

Overall, this guitar is in very respectable shape for an acoustic that is over 45 years old.
