Technical Specifications
- Body & Top: Solid mahogany back with a carved, highly figured two-piece flame maple top. It features multi-ply binding on both the front and back.
- Neck & Fingerboard: A distinctive 5-piece flamed maple neck with walnut stripes (offering extra enforcement compared to standard 3-piece necks of the era). It has a bound ebony fingerboard fitted with split-block parallelogram inlays borrowed from Gibson's high-end Super 400 archtop.
- Pickups: Dual Gibson Series VII "Tarback" humbuckers. These were famously potted with a black, rubber-like material inside gold covers.
- Electronics: Equipped with the standard dual volume and tone controls, plus a unique factory-fitted mini-toggle coil tap switc making it one of the first Les Pauls to offer stock single-coil tonal variations.
- Hardware: A unique mix of gold and chrome/silver plating. It includes a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge paired with a TP-6 fine-tuning tailpiece, a brass nut, and Schaller-style "Gibson" tulip tuners.
- Headstock: Highly ornate with an abalone and mother-of-pearl "25/50" inlay, an old-school '70s script logo, and a gold-plated truss rod cover engraved with "Gibson Les Paul Anniversary
