The Audient ASP800 packs eight channels of Audient's console-grade microphone preamps into a single rack space, giving you the clean, detailed gain stage the brand's consoles are known for at a fraction of the footprint. Each channel offers a wide 0 to 70 dB gain range with an extra gain stage available, a switchable -15 dB pad, and 48V phantom power, so you can track anything from a ribbon mic to a hot drum overhead without running out of headroom.

Two of the eight channels go further with Audient's HMX and IRON color controls. HMX dials in asymmetrical harmonic distortion reminiscent of a vintage valve preamp for sweetness and thickness, while IRON is modeled on a custom British transformer that shapes drive, phase, saturation and transient response - giving you two extra tonal characters without reaching for an outboard unit. Two discrete JFET DIs round out the front panel for direct instrument recording.

On the conversion side, the ASP800 uses Burr-Brown PCM4204 24-bit converters and sends all eight channels out over ADAT at sample rates up to 96 kHz, making it a natural expansion for any audio interface with ADAT input. A low-noise, fanless linear power supply keeps operation quiet in the studio, and the all-metal 1U rack chassis is built to live in a rack for the long haul.
