Classic single-coil tone

The SSS configuration is the choice for players who want the most traditional Classic S experience.

The V60LP pickups are designed to deliver the open, articulate and dynamic character associated with a great vintage single coil. The neck pickup is warm and expressive, the middle position adds plenty of clarity and snap, while the bridge pickup delivers the bite and definition you want for cutting rhythm parts and expressive lead playing.

The in-between positions provide the unmistakable hollow, glassy tones that have made the classic S-style guitar such an important part of modern music.

SSCII – traditional tone with significantly less hum

One of the major advantages of the Classic S is Suhr's SSCII Silent Single Coil System.

Traditional single coils are known for their characteristic 50/60-cycle hum. SSCII is designed to significantly reduce this unwanted noise while maintaining the natural response, dynamics and character of the pickups.

The system is completely passive, so no battery is required.

Modern playability, vintage-inspired feel

The 60's C Vintage Standard neck profile offers a comfortable and familiar feel with enough substance to feel solid in the hand.

The 9"-12" compound radius becomes progressively flatter towards the higher frets. This gives you a comfortable feel for chords in the lower register while making bends and lead playing further up the neck easier and more controlled.

The Medium Stainless Steel frets offer an exceptionally smooth playing surface and outstanding resistance to fret wear.

Built to be played

Suhr's locking tuners make string changes fast and provide excellent tuning stability, while the 2-Post Tremolo delivers smooth and expressive tremolo action with the reliability expected from a modern professional instrument.

The maple fingerboard gives this version an especially classic appearance and complements the 3 Tone Sunburst finish beautifully.

The end result is a guitar that feels immediately familiar, but noticeably more refined in every detail.

Whether you're looking for a high-end stage and studio instrument, a professional workhorse or simply one of the finest modern interpretations of the classic S-style guitar, the Suhr Classic S SSS is an exceptional choice.
