Dangerous Music MONITOR Mastering-Grade Monitor Controller with Matching MPS-1 Power Supply – Purple Face – Serial A216

Excellent-condition original Dangerous Music MONITOR system with matching MPS-1 external power supply.

This is the classic purple-face Dangerous MONITOR designed for critical mixing and mastering applications, featuring high-quality analog monitor control, multiple analog and digital source selection, onboard Dangerous Reference D/A conversion, stepped attenuation and comprehensive monitoring functions.

This unit was purchased new from Sweetwater on December 8, 2008 and has remained in my professional studio environment. It has been carefully maintained and is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age. Please see the detailed photos for the actual condition.

Both the MONITOR and MPS-1 are marked Serial # A216, documenting them as the matching original system.

The MONITOR provides three pairs of analog inputs, four digital inputs, analog and digital meter feeds, main and alternate speaker monitoring, and dedicated Left/Right Mute, Left/Right Phase, Mono, Dim and -6 VU functions. Its onboard Dangerous Reference D/A converter supports sample rates from 32 kHz through 192 kHz.

The large stepped volume attenuator provides precise, repeatable monitoring levels — one of the reasons these units became so well regarded in professional mixing and mastering rooms.

Condition:
Excellent overall cosmetic condition with only minor signs of normal studio/rack use consistent with age. Front panel, controls, switches and rear connections present extremely well. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description.

History:
Purchased new from Sweetwater in 2008 for use in my professional mastering studio. Original documentation and packaging have been retained.

A particularly nice opportunity to acquire a clean, complete and documented example of the original Dangerous Music MONITOR system with its matching MPS-1 power supply.

Will be carefully packed using the original fitted foam and Dangerous Music box, with additional exterior protection for shipment.
