This rare pair of Universal Audio 1176AE is in excellent condition. They were manufactured in 2009 and have sequential serial numbers. Excellent except for knob cap missing.
They were recently gone through and the only thing done besides a diagnostic check was bulb replacement of VU lights.
The 1176AE was a limited edition Universal Audio created to celebrate its 10th anniversary of its revival, reestablished by Bill Putnam sons in 1999.
It was based on a mix between the early Rev A (blue stripe) with its program-dependent compression and the Rev E, with its class-A circuit, transformers, and LN (low-noise) circuit.
On top of that magic combination, Universal Audio also added a couple of extra perks on this revision: the ratio 2:1 (dropped 12:1) and the slow attack mode of 10ms, added where the bypass switch was.
Both units are fully working and sound great. No issues. There were only 500 were ever built, hence the rare-ness in the title!
