Brand new from Gibson. The J-45™ is Gibson’s best-selling acoustic guitar model of all time. Nicknamed “The Workhorse,” it was first introduced in 1942 and has been a popular choice among guitar players worldwide ever since. It is considered the most widely recorded guitar in history and has been used onstage by countless artists across a wide range of musical genres. This iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of the Gibson round-shoulder, dreadnought line. World-renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection, the J-45 has been refined to carry this legacy to new heights. The Gibson J-45 50s Faded delivers full-spectrum sound with incredible dynamic range, warm mids, and tight, punchy bass. The J-45 50s Faded follows the traditional J-45 tonewood formula, with a solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid mahogany for the back and sides. The 24 3/4” scale neck is also mahogany. It features a comfortable Rounded profile and is capped with an unbound rosewood fretboard, equipped with 20 standard frets, and adorned with simple mother-of-pearl dot position marker inlays. The belly-up rosewood bridge is fitted with a bone saddle and TUSQ® bridge pins. The nut is also made of bone, and the headstock is equipped with smooth-turning Gotoh® tuning machines featuring white buttons for a vintage-inspired appearance. Now available with a faded satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that further accentuates the guitar’s undeniable vintage vibe, the J-45 50s Faded is equipped with a modern L.R. Baggs™ VTC under-saddle pickup and a built-in preamp. The volume and tone controls for the pickup are discreetly mounted in the sound hole, where they are readily accessible for the player while remaining all but invisible to the audience. The onboard electronics make the J-45 50s Faded ready for studio and stage use from the moment you take it out of the included hardshell case.
