Selling a vintage Yamaha FG-300 Red Label Nippon Gakki acoustic guitar, dating from approximately 1968–1972.

This is a classic Japanese-made Yamaha dreadnought from the Red Label era, with the ornate pickguard and big, full sound these guitars are known for.

This guitar has been professionally set up by Portland Fretworks and sounds excellent. I've owned two FG-300s, and although the other one was in better cosmetic condition, this one always sounded better.

The original adjustable bridge has been removed and replaced with a 3D-printed bridge insert made by a member of the Yamaha FG forums, which improved the tone. Portland Fretworks also cut and installed a bone saddle. The original adjustable bridge is included with the guitar.

The original pickguard had come loose, which is common on these guitars. I purchased a replica pickguard from Backwoods Guitar, which was installed by Portland Fretworks. There is some visible finish discoloration around the pickguard where the original was slightly larger.

The guitar was previously strung left-handed, resulting in some strumming marks on the upper bout. There is also a chip in the neck binding on the right side around the 9th fret. Please see photos for these condition details.
