The Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54 celebrates a classic Fender bass guitar that never existed. Confused? We should explain. In 1960, the Jazz Bass joined its older sibling, the Precision Bass, in the Fender lineup. But instead of the usual J Bass control arrangement with per-pickup volume knobs and a master tone, the Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54 features the rare dual-concentric, 2-knob arrangement that was only used for a short while after the model’s introduction in 1960. This allows you to not only mix the pickups to taste, but also tweak the tone of each pickup individually, giving you the tonal versatility to ace any gig or recording session.
