With the S23 Limited Edition Redhot CuNiFe Telecaster, the Fender Custom Shop combines some of the most sought-after elements of modern Telecaster designs into an exceptional collector’s model. At its heart is the rare combination of a faithfully constructed Wide Range CuNiFe humbucker at the neck and a Red Hot Telecaster single-coil pickup hand-wound by pickup master builder Josefina Campos at the bridge. While the legendary CuNiFe humbucker impresses with its open, bell-like, and exceptionally transparent tone, the heavily wound Josefina pickup delivers the classic Tele twang with added punch, tight bass, and assertive mids. Together, they create a remarkably versatile Telecaster that masters classic vintage sounds just as confidently as modern rock, blues, and country tones.

The wildly flamed quartersawn roasted maple neck ensures an outstanding playing feel; its thermal treatment provides additional stability, resonant vibration, and a particularly comfortable feel. The factory-sanded back of the neck conveys, from the very first strum, the well-played feel of an instrument that’s been played for decades, while the substantial Large “C” profile fits perfectly in the hand and supports both rhythmic playing and expressive solos. And thanks to the modern 9.5"-fretboard radius, the 21 jumbo frets, and the precise craftsmanship of the Fender Custom Shop, the result is an overall contemporary, exceptionally comfortable, and effortless playability.

The classic ’56–’63 string-through-body vintage bridge with three brass saddles delivers the characteristic Telecaster tone with excellent response and long sustain. Combined with the high-quality Fender Vintage Style tuners, the guitar impresses with outstanding tuning stability and an authentic vintage feel.

Visually, this Telecaster is undoubtedly one of the most extraordinary models of recent years. The intricately applied Dirty Shell Pink over Chocolate 3-Tone Sunburst Heavy Relic finish gives the instrument a unique vintage patina, where the over-painted Shell Pink reveals the underlying sunburst finish in places, conveying the impression of a favorite instrument that has aged naturally over decades. This guitar is in absolutely mint condition and technically flawless. Visually, aside from the intentional factory aging, it shows no visible wear whatsoever (see photos). The frets are flawless.
