1969 Gibson Southern Jumbo. This guitar is a beautiful old square-shoulder dreadnaught in very good condition. It shows some signs of use including minor chips, dings, and scratches, mostly on the back and sides, where there is some worming and scratches from buckle-wear, as well as some finish checking throughout. The guitar plays very cleanly with very low action and has that classic Gibson sound.
There has been some history of modification / repair on this instrument. The biggest thing is that it has been refretted. This job has been done very well and the medium-narrow frets on it are very easy to play, honestly a massive improvement from the low, wide, and flat frets it would've had from the factory. The nut is original and plenty tall enough for the new frets. Besides this, the adjustable saddle is a replacement, and the guitar sports modern-style Gibson-branded Kluson Deluxe tuners. This guitar has the narrow nut with a thin C-shaped neck profile.
The guitar will ship carefully packed in a non-original modern hardshell case, fully insured with signature required on delivery. I have done my best to describe this instrument and provide plenty of photos, however this bass is sold AS DESCRIBED so please message me for any additional photos or with any questions you may have before ordering as all sales will be final.
