Fender Bandmaster Reverb TFL5005D from 1972.
The preamp signal path is identical to the legendary Fender AB763 circuit, known from models such as the Vibroverb. The Bandmaster Reverb additionally offers slightly wider bandwidth in the power amp section.
The amplifier is in very good working condition. In October 2025, it underwent a professional service at Lanthan Electronics, during which the worn, more than 50-year-old electrolytic caps in the power supply were replaced with new premium-grade electrolytic capacitors.
The original circuit topology and component values remain consistent with Fender’s factory specification. The amplifier has not undergone any tone-altering modifications—only the essential maintenance required to ensure reliable operation.
Technical details:
- all three original Schumacher transformers, fully operational
- transformer numbers begin with the EIA manufacturer code “606,” with date codes indicating production in 1972
- chassis also dated 1972
- complete set of Tung-Sol tubes in good condition
- new JJ rectifier tube
- professionally serviced by Lanthan Electronics in October 2025
- new Sprague Atom cathode bypass capacitors—premium-grade components also used in amplifiers such as the Two-Rock Classic Reverb
- new German-made F&T power-supply filter capacitors
- multi-voltage operation at 220/230/240 V; the external voltage-selector knob is missing, but the selector itself remains fully functional and can be adjusted directly
The amplifier delivers the classic, spacious Fender AB763 clean tone with natural tube compression, excellent dynamics and a firm low end.
