Gibson "The SG" Walnut 1979
The Gibson SG, a classic model widely recognized as a rock icon and beloved by current generations of guitarists such as Angus Young and modern slide god Derek Trucks, is now available its 1979 iteration. Weighing 3.48kg, it features a walnut body and neck with an ebony fingerboard, giving it a tough, no-nonsense feel.
"The SG" has some rather unique specifications, including two "T-top Velvet Brick" pickups, the final version of the "Tim Shaw" pickups that preceded the later "Patent Applied For" humbucker reissues. The back is inscribed with the year "1979". The unusual color layout, with a double black front pickup and a zebra rear pickup, is another original feature.
Interestingly, the hardware features a wide-shaped Wide Travel Tune-o-matic bridge ("Wide Travel" or "Harmonica Bridge") and nickel Grover 102N tuners with triangle buttons. The side-mounted jack is also a convenient design, less prone to damage.
This guitar has been refretted at our shop, so the playing condition is excellent. Moreover, the engraved humbucker and distinctive bridge give it a great visual impact, and the ebony fingerboard is a nice touch, making it an interesting SG that is unlikely to be seen on many other people, while also being unique in sound. Don't miss this opportunity.
