Vintage 1977 Ibanez Challenger Strat 2575WH White Finish Fujigen Japan Original Very Good Condition + Hard Case
Amazing Ibanez Challenger Strat guitar! These Challenger Strat’s were only made for a short time during 1977-1978. Single piece Maple neck is fantastic and frets have plenty of life left. Truss adjustment is at the heel. Truss rod works. Fresh set of D’addario 10 gauge strings were just installed. Tremolo arm sits real low when screwed in all of the way. I’m not certain if this arm is original or not but it came with the guitar so it is being sold with the guitar.
This Challenger has a 3 way pickup selector switches: 1 for each pickup. There is a universal volume control for all 3 pickups. The closest Tone control affects the neck pickup, the 2nd Tone control affects the middle pickup, the bridge pickup has no Tone control.
Comes with case shown. Case is in very good condition. I am not sure if this is the original case but I have seen other Ibanez guitars with similar cases. All latches and hinges work and handle is secure.
This is a pre owned vintage guitar that does show some wear commensurate of age and use. There are dings, dents, scratches, paint chips etc but overall this guitar is in very good condition for 43 years old. Most of the Sold listings I’ve seen on Reverb have had modifications (switched parts, routed bodies, refinish jobs, etc) but this one appears to be all original and looks and plays well! I am not the original owner and do not know the past history of this guitar.
