About This Listing

To start off, this guitar plays really well. It has very low action, and it’s very pleasant to play. It’s a 1985 Gibson Challenger II and it has some serious upgrades to it. Everything was done by the previous owner who passed away and now I’m the owner of the guitar. I’ve taken as many pictures as I can to show the condition of the guitar and the upgrades. There may be more upgrades than I’m listing since I’m not too familiar with all of them. The bridge is a Schaller Signum Chrome Bridge ($180 value). There are 3 pickups and they all are vintage Fender USA 1960s 8-String steel guitar pickups ($395 value each totaling to $1185 in pickup value). It looks like the pickups were painted in order to fit in with the pickguard. I have a picture showing what they look like before they were installed and the going price of the pickups. The pickups sound really good, and along with them are 3 toggle switches and 6 volume/tone knobs. I personally don’t know what every single selection does, but everything seems to work really good and moves smoothly. The electronics sound really good and this guitar plays very smooth up and down the fingerboard. This guitar has some small scratches, some small indentions, and some finish checking on the back of the neck shown in the pictures, but it’s in very good condition for its age. The finish checking is really hard to see but it’s barely there. All of these things are just cosmetic, hardly noticeable, and they don’t affect how it plays. Along with this deal is a hard case which has signs of wear but works good. These guitars are hard to find, especially the ones made in 1985 which was the end of their production year. Overall this guitar plays really well and it looks great!
