About This Listing

Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting..

An awesome and VERY RARE 1970's German Made Hoyer SG Guitar..All original, to my understanding, except the strings, whammy bar and newer Hardshell Case that's almost brand new!

I just picked this one up from a Pro Player Finder here in Des Moines. I had to do my research to figure out who Hoyer was. I was not familiar with them. They are a German Company and still make very high quality guitars today. This guitar was made in the mid 1970's and they also made other look-a-like guitars like Fender and Rickenbacker clones.

I think they made them better than the guitars they were copying. This is a neck thru guitar that is rock solid. The neck is very straight. I have it set up so low, you may want to raise the action some. It plays itself. Check out the Hoyer Branded Whammy tailpiece and bridge. Very extensive German Engineering on these. Think BMW...LOL...I also love the Burgandy original knobs. A really nice feature seeing so many black knobs on these style guitars.

The Pickups are huge. They sound great and check out the pic of the pots. I have never seen a pot assembly that was branded like this Hoyer. Very impressive. German Schaller Tuners of course..The plastic overlay on the Logo plate is slightly cracked. It is only in the plastic. No wood is cracked on this cool guitar. It probably occurred with string tension or overtightening the tuner. Some back scratches and that's about it. Very nicely cared for.

As I stated earlier, the whammy bar fits but its not original and the case is an almost brand new Hardshell my finder thru in for this guitar. It fits great.

Some lucky buyer is going to be really happy they got this Bass guitar. They don't come up often and sell quickly when they do. It is sold as-is no returns as it used..However, I have been hand-picking my customers guitars for over 14 years now and have had nothing but happy customers. This one will not be an exception.

  • Thanks for checking out my cool guitars.
