Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A really cool and pretty rare 1975 Global Dual Pickup Guitar. Made in Korea and sold in both the Aldens and Montgomery Wards Catalogs. See pic 11 of the Sunburst Model of this guitar in the 1975 Montgomery Ward Catalog.
No dates to confirm 1975 but calling it that from our find of the catalog page. Thanks Global Guitar Facebook page for helping with the research of these guitars. See pic 11!

This cool guitar is in excellent shape. 100% original and we had our Techs check it out for proper operation and great playing action. New 10 gauge strings. It is a pleasure to play. No sore fingers with this one!

The dual pickups were quite a suprise. They are very proud and in charge. I am used to a lot of these guitars having pretty weak pickups. Not so here! Great tones that remind me of the earlier Japanese Guyatones and Teiscos. They sound great! The guitar has a 24 1/2 inch scale neck and the nut measures 1 11/16 inches. The guitar is quite light. It only weighs 6 lbs 5 ozs. No sore backs with this one!

No weird dings or scratches to report. This guitar is in excellent shape. The frets appear to be almost unplayed. Love the see thru natural finish on this guitar. Not sure of the woods. It could be alder or some form of pine. Its really pretty. Perfect Global logo on it. Its a beautiful guitar.
We found some info on the same Facebook Global page. Here's their research on the Global Company...
In the 70's the Global company as well as Harmony and I believe Kay too were all divisions of F.D.T.C. LTD at 170 Lively Blvd., Elk Grove Village Illinois. During this time all of these instruments were imported from Asia by F.D.T.C. LTD. Now I have to find out what the letters in F.D.T.C. LTD stand for. The company "W.M.I." which was owned by Sol Weindling and Barry Hornstein were the ones who bought the Kay name in 1969. I think they must have acquired the Harmony name as well at some point.

A lot of importing of Japanese, Korean and Taiwan guitars in the 1970's. So much was going on there wasn't a lot of help in any serial numbers or dating. Happy we found the Montgomery Wards page to assign to this guitar.

Ships in the new gigbag. No, we didn't get an original case with this one. The gig bag looks a lot like the case shown on the catalog page! Maybe they were shipped with a gigbag! Your cool guitar will be safe in shipping in the gigbag!
Used and vintage so its sold as is no returns. However, I have been hand picking my customers instruments for over 20 years now and they all loved the guitars I found them. This cool Global will certainly not be an exception.
Thanks for checking out all of our cool guitars, parts and gear!
