Sell your gear faster with insights

Stop guessing, start selling

Insights use real buyer activity and Reverb sales data to analyze your listings and give you recommendations for how to get your gear sold. Find them on your listings page.

Insights

A piece of music gear sells on Reverb every 14 seconds¹. We take cues from what’s selling and how buyers are interacting with your items to help you fine-tune your listings for a sale.

Here are some recommendations you might see

Reach interested buyers with Direct Offers

With insights, you’ll see if musicians have saved your gear or added it to their cart. If you’re getting lots of interest, your insights might recommend sending a private Direct Offer to those buyers to encourage them to check out.

Take the guesswork out of pricing

Our Price Guide uses real-time sales data to tell you what buyers are paying for similar gear. If your gear is priced above average, your insights will recommend a price drop. Drop your price by 5% or more to notify everyone that's got your gear saved or in their cart.

Gear priced competitively typically sells within a week.²

Make your gear stand out with Bump

Some gear has heavy competition. Bump can help you stand out from the crowd. If a Bump would help your listing sell, insights will tell you exactly what to bid to make your item more visible. You only pay a fee if your item sells.

Your listing is 25% more likely to sell in 7 days with Bump.³

Common questions from our Help Center

What is insights, and how does it help me sell?
Insights is a set of filters on your Listings page that show you how each listing is doing: whether your price is competitive, how much interest it's getting from saves and shopping cart adds, and how visible it is in search. Each insight points you toward a clear next step, like adjusting your price, sending a Direct Offer, or boosting visibility with Bump. Learn more about insights.
How do I know if my listing has a visibility opportunity?
Insights flags this for you. Insights may suggest to Bump your listing to increase visibility. Listings can show up as top pick eligible, where you're able to win a featured spot with a higher Bump bid, or in other placements in search results. Learn more about insights.
How does Bump work, and what does it cost?
You set your Bump rate as a percentage of your item's final sale price, anywhere from 0.5% to 30%. Reverb uses that rate, along with your listing's quality and how likely buyers are to click on it, to give your gear premium placement. You're only charged the Bump fee if and when the item sells, and you can turn Bump off at any time. Learn more about Bump.
How does insights decide my price needs adjusting?
Insights compares your listing to the Reverb Price Guide and recent sales history for similar gear. If your price is running above that range, it flags the listing as priced above average and recommends a more competitive number. Learn more about price drops.
How do I know when it's time for a price drop?
Insights will flag it for you. From there, it's your call: drop your price by at least 5% from the original listing price (after it's been live for at least 24 hours), and your listing gets a price drop badge, a spot in our Price Drops section, and an alert to everyone who saved it. Learn more about price drops.
What's the difference between a price drop and a Direct Offer?
A price drop lowers your listed price for everyone and automatically notifies potential buyers who have saved your listing. A Direct Offer is more targeted: you send a discount only to the specific buyers who've saved your listing or left it in their cart, without changing the price publicly. Learn more about price drops or Direct Offers.
Who can send Direct Offers?
Any seller with five completed sales on Reverb can enable Direct Offers, either on individual listings or in bulk from their Listings page. Learn more about Direct Offers.
How do I get my gear into a sales event?
Head to your Listings page, select "More Listing Actions" on the listing you want to include, then "Apply" it to an open sale. Every Reverb Payments seller is eligible for used gear, and Reverb Preferred Sellers can also include brand new items. Learn more about sales events.
Is there a cost to using these tools?
Using insights, price drops, or Direct Offers doesn't cost anything extra. Bump only charges a fee when your item sells, at the rate you set. For sales events, price drops, and Direct Offers, you set the discount yourself and Reverb doesn't cover the difference, so set a discount to a price you're comfortable with.
