Video: Seymour Duncan Silver Lake Dynamic Reverb Demo

At the winter NAMM show this past January, Seymour Duncan debuted its newest pedal, the Silver Lake Dynamic Reverb. While we didn't get a chance to check it out on the floor in Anaheim, Andy brought the new stompbox into his studio to dive deep and see what it can do.

The Silver Lake is a digital reverb unit built for musicians looking for an immensely shapeable and exhaustive palette of reverb tones. It's fully programmable, allowing users to choose what kind of reverb they want—from massive plates and halls, to vintage spring and classic room reverb—and add special effects like "shimmer," "swell," "gated," and "delay/reverb," in addition to dialing in the parameters of their sound. Even better, Seymour Duncan opted to make those parameters controllable via knobs on the pedal's face, eliminating the need for confusing menus and controls.

What's especially exciting about this reverb is what Seymour Duncan calls Dynamic Expression—a feature that allows players to adjust settings in real-time just with their picking attack. For example, players can dial in a more subtle reverb flavor that becomes louder and more expansive the harder they pick their strings.
