Video: Death By Audio Deep Animation Envelope Filter

Death By Audio's new Deep Animation pedal is an envelope filter that gives players a broad tonal palette. While we got a quick look at the Deep Animation at NAMM earlier this year, Andy was really able to see what the pedal could do in the video above.

As he demonstrates, this high-quality stompbox is "capable of producing thundering, animated bass, funky leads, crunch, quack, and oomph," and is "built with the low-end in mind." The all-analog tracking allows "the player to pull exaggeration from every note, while providing the ability to cut through the mix with syrupy texture."

Death By Audio included a number of features that add to the versatility of the pedal, like an Up/Down switch, which changes the starting point of the filter and the direction of the envelope, and a Trigger input that allows you to connect a drum machine or other external instrument to control the filter sweep.

Perhaps most importantly, the 6-way Frequency Selector lets you fine-tune where on the frequency spectrum the filter resides, allowing you to dial in your tone for bass or guitar, funk or metal, or whatever your sonic needs may be.
