Video: Blu DeTiger Shows Off Her New Fender Signature Bass & Touring Rig

This summer, we had the opportunity to catch up with bassist Blu DeTiger (who we first got the chance to talk to in 2022) and get a closer look at the gear in her touring rig. And what's particularly exciting is the brand-new signature bass guitar at the heart of her setup.

Designed in collaboration with Fender, this Limited Edition Player Plus x Blu DeTiger Jazz Bass immediately draws in the eye with its vibrant Sky Burst Blue Sparkle finish (with a painted headstock to match), flashy mirrored pickguard, and chrome hardware.

It's lightweight, chambered ash body is married to a satin-finished maple neck with a bound 9.5-inch rosewood fingerboard and vintage tall frets, all providing smooth playability.

Tone-wise, the new signature model fuses vintage warmth with a modern punch with its unique pickup configuration: a Custom Blu DeTiger Fireball bass humbucker in the bridge position and a Player Plus Noiseless Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge position.

Blu DeTiger also has an extensive pedalboard that she put together through testing a ton of different effect types. She was touring with the same pedalboard used to make her record in the studio, and it's filled with good stuff—some of which just stays built into the board on an "in case she needs it" basis. A few examples of well-used pedals include an EHX Bass Mono Synth, EHX Micro POG, and MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter.

Watch the full video above to hear Blu DeTiger break down the rest of her rig and how she uses it. Then, check out Blu DeTiger's most recent Audiotree live session to hear all of the gear in action.
