Pedal Tricks: Electrifying a Saxophone with Jonah Parzen-Johnson

With all the constant talk about "guitar effects," it's easy to lose sight of how easily things like pedals and synths can gel with non-electrical instruments. In our latest edition of Pedal Tricks, Jonah Prazen-Johnson guides us through an otherworldly plane of sound with his trusty Baritone Sax and intricately laid-out board. Jonah run the tones of his Bari into a Moog MF-107 FreqBox, an MXR Carbon Copy Delay, and a Dave Smith Instruments Mopho desktop synth, which he controls via a set of expression pedals to trigger longer drones and accents. The result is a totally unique set of sounds that prove pedal tricks aren't just for those of us with output jacks.
