Today, Korg announces the return of full-sized MS-20 production—for a limited time, and in your choice of four colors.
Following the popularity of the MS-20 mini reissue Korg first released in 2013, 2014 saw a full-sized MS-20 kit, with some assembly required. At the time Korg wrote: "The MS-20 Kit is a kit that lets you obtain a real MS-20 by assembling the parts according to the directions in the owner's manual. ... Beyond any doubt, the analog sound generated by the MS-20 that you yourself completed will sound more valuable than that of any other synthesizer."
Thankfully, for those fans of the classic semi-modular synth who don't want to fuss with the nuts and bolts of their instrument, Korg is once again taking on the assembly itself.

The MS-20 FS (for full-sized) will be available this spring, though pricing information is still unavailable. Just how limited the limited-edition run also remains to be seen.
According to Korg, the features will include:
- Four different color variations in a powder-coated finish.
- Provides two types of filter: early model and late model.
- Completely reproduces the analog circuitry of the time.
- 2VCO / 2VCA / 2VCF / 2EG / 1LFO structure.
- External Signal Processor (ESP) to process an external signal.
- Patching system provides an extremely high degree of freedom.
- MIDI IN connector and USB port are provided.
- AC adaptor.
Korg is already having one of the busiest NAMM shows of any company, and the convention itself still hasn't begun. Last week Korg released both the new Wavestate wave-sequencing and the much-anticipated ARP 2600 reissue.
