Learn to Play: Alex Skolnick Teaches 3–Note Runs

Over the past year, we've learned a lot from Testament's Alex Skolnick. He has taught us about triads and sweep picking, how to play 5–note patterns, and how to spice up our solos by playing pentatonic variations on the blues scale.

In this latest installment, Alex gives us some tips and tricks on how to nail our 3–note runs. Alex stresses that though the scales are very important and you have to learn them, you shouldn't become completely dependent on them.
