Video: Alex Skolnick Teaches Pentatonic Variations on the Blues Scale

Our good pal Alex Skolnick is back in the Reverb studio today with another lesson, and we sure are excited to have him. He has previously given us a closer look into his sweep–picking technique, how to nail triads, and how to build 5–note runs.

Today, Alex is teaching us how to mix up our solo work with pentatonic variations on the popular blues scale. He moves the blues scale onto two strings first and then teaches us how to move along the neck.

Later in the video, he even calls back to his lesson on building 5–note patterns and applies those to the pentatonic shapes.
