Over the past few weeks, Jake has taught us a bunch of bass lessons, from how to play the opening bassline from Miles Davis' "So What" to how to construct a Steve Swallow-inspired chromatic or an arpeggiated bassline that can be used in many songs.
For the latest Bass Walk of the Week, Jake is turning his attention to Percy Heath's part on the first chorus of the Miles Davis tune "Solar," which appears on the album appropriately titled Walkin'. Though the original part is played by Heath on an upright bass, Jake is using a Fender Precision for today's lesson.
Be sure to grab your bass and follow along with Jake in the video above, and stay tuned for another Bass Walk of the Week next Wednesday.
