Behringer Neutron Semi-Modular Synthesizer

The Behringer Neutron is a paraphonic semi-modular synthesizer that combines classic analog circuitry with modern flexibility. Powered by dual 3340 voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), it offers an expansive range of sonic possibilities, from thick basslines to intricate leads. Its pure analog signal path includes a multi-mode state variable filter (VCF), two ADSR envelope generators, and a bucket-brigade delay (BBD) for authentic analog warmth and movement. Perfect for both studio and live use, the Neutron fits easily into a Eurorack system and features patchable I/O for deep sound exploration.

The Neutron’s dual VCOs offer a wide range of sonic textures, featuring 5 selectable waveforms: Tone Mod, Square, Sawtooth, Triangle, and Sine. Each oscillator can be independently controlled in paraphonic mode for complex, evolving sounds. The VCOs have a 3-octave range, making them capable of everything from sub-bass growls to soaring leads. Flexible modulation options allow for even greater sound design potential.

Multi-Mode State Variable Filter (VCF) & Overdrive

The 12 dB state-variable filter lets you sculpt sounds with low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass modes. The filter's cutoff frequency spans from 10 Hz to 15 kHz, with modulation options to further shape the sound. The built-in overdrive circuit adds saturation and warmth, enhancing the overall sound without sacrificing low-end integrity. These features combine to provide an enormous palette of tones, from smooth, mellow pads to aggressive, biting leads.

Extensive Modulation & Connectivity

The Neutron offers a highly flexible modulation matrix with two ADSRs for controlling both the filter and the VCA. The onboard LFO has five waveform shapes and can be synced to MIDI, offering even more modulation possibilities. The 32 in/24 out patchable matrix provides connections for advanced patching flexibility, while the MIDI I/O and USB/MIDI DIN allow for integration with other gear. The external audio input also lets you process external sound sources through the synth.
