Make: S. Yairi
Model: YD-304
Finish: Natural
Set-up & Playability: Nice action and a subtle V-Neck - flatpicker mojo for DAYS.
Case: OHSC
Notes: BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD - WOW!~
This thing is awesome! 1970s S. Yairi Made in Japan D-35 clone but at a much better price. For anybody wanting an alternative for their flatpicking needs this guitar will get the job done plus more!
This guitar looks to have Brazilian Rosewood back, sides and fretboard, so I suspect it is from the early 1970s before the CITES embargo. Worth noting also that this guitar has no truss rod, but the neck is amazingly straight and the action is pretty perfect flatpicker action. We have this guitar set up with .11s and I would reccomend keeping the strings that light to preserve the neck.
As always, we cleaned it up, polished the finish, flushed the electronics (if applicable), changed the strings, performed all routine maintenance and set the action low and smooth. All of our packages are packed tight enough to survive the apocalypse and we insure every parcel for the full purchase amount.
