Updated for 2026! The MTD Kingston Z is the flagship model of the Kingston line and takes many of its design cues from MTD Handmade USA basses.
This Kingston Z6 features an alder body with a maple burl top, roasted maple neck, roasted maple fingerboard, active electronics, MTD Soapbar pickups, and a 35" scale length for tight, articulate low-end response. The roasted neck provides added stability and a broken-in feel, while MTD’s asymmetrical neck and compound 10"-14" fingerboard radius make this a comfortable, professional-grade 6-string bass.
Like all MTD Kingston instruments, the Z6 undergoes a rigorous quality control and setup process in Kingston, NY by master technicians. The top-loading MTD Quick Release bridge allows fast string changes, while Licensed Hipshot Ultralite tuners provide excellent tuning stability without unnecessary neck dive.
