Vinnie Paul's personally owned "Heavy Hitter" prototype snare drum from Megadeth's Shawn Drover. In the 2010 DDrum press release announcing the limited edition signature Megadeth snare drum, Shawn Drover said he had been playing the prototype for a year before the public release of the snare and had used it to record on Megadeth's Endgame album, noting its use on "The Right To Go Insane" and the Grammy-nominated "Headcrusher" album singles. The prototype made its way to Vinnie Paul's home studio at his legendary Texas mansion and was then put prominently on display there as seen in the attached photos. It can be yours for the price of a lower end Rolex watch. I think we can all agree this is much cooler.

The snare exhibits plenty of use and even has some of Pantera's famous Crown & Coke "Blacktooth" drink spilled down one side. Vinnie's home parties were known to get crazy, often being latenight after-parties when the Pantera strip club closed, full of celebrities and rock stars. It comes with two signed COAs and full provenance.

You can see the prototype differences from the limited edition production model released in 2010. It has totally different hardware and not the pure black powder coated finish on the production model. The artwork is slightly different and does not feature Shawn Drover's signature anywhere, where the production model has it above the lazer-etched DDrum logo on the shell.

This is an incredible piece of Pantera x Megadeth history and comes directly from Vinnie Paul's Dallas home and estate sale after his untimely passing.
