Washburn" has a long history dating back to the 19th century.

Today, the company tends to have a strong image of electric guitars, as represented by models such as the Nuno Bettencourt, but in the early days it was renowned as a mandolin maker.

In fact, the first dreadnought-sized acoustic guitar to be commercialised was not by "Martin" but by "Washburn" in 1912 under the model name LAKESIDE JUMBO. It was released under the model name "LAKESIDE JUMBO" in 1912, and there is no doubt that it is an indispensable brand in the story of the history.

The model introduced here is the "Lyon & Healy Style-E" manufactured in the 1920s.

Parlour size steel string specification with 12F joint, medium scale

The neck is 43mm wide and features a tight V-shape.

The top is made of spruce with a tight grain and the side backs are made of pear wood (Nyssawood), which is almost unheard of in modern times.

The side backs are plywood with ladder bracing, so it is easy to have negative preconceptions about the sound, but the tone far exceeds expectations in a good way.

The dry, penetrating sound that you get when you play a single chord can only be experienced with a good, older model.

Even in recent years, there are few or no all veneer models that can provide this kind of impression.

It is a miracle that it still exists today after 100 years of production.
