Please read full description - which starts after the pot information - only because I write A LOT of details. And at the very end of the description - I have a link for a different Gibson guitar control harness (2 control - long stem 500k audio taper, tiny blue round cap, jack, and wires -- NO switch / NO wires for switch) that I have listed on REVERB. And I have info about other Gibson control harnesses that I have on hand - not listed yet - but available for sale upon request.

Below are the Gibson part numbers (on each pot) and the values. The numbers are NOT dates.

The upper pot (potentiometer / control) -- which is the one with the brown wire and with the silver braided wire attached to it -- is marked:

  • 66-440-70028 (The numbers are NOT dates and they are NOT retail model numbers). The numbers are Gibson or manufacture numbers for identifying the type of pot it is (value, taper, length of stem).
  • this is a short shaft "volume" pot, 300K linear taper
  • The Gibson model # for the pot is: PPAT-310

The lower pot (potentiometer / control) -- which is the one with the two brown wires, the silver braided wire, and the big orange capacitor attached to it -- is marked:

Up for grabs is a used 1997 Gibson control harness: 1 volume pot + nut/washer, 1 tone pot + nut/washer, wires, wire insulation, capacitor, jack + nut/washer, switch + switch tip & nut -- from The Hawk guitar. Also comes with new geniune Gibson Switch Washer (Black with Gold Letters PRWA-010).

Guitar NOT included, NO other parts included.

=====

  • Please let me know of you prefer a Creme with Gold imprint for the switch washer (instead of teh Black with Gold imprint)
  • Please let me know if you prefer a Creme Switch Tip instead of the black one.
  • NO Guitar is part of this listing. NO other parts included.

The selling price will be $5 less if you do NOT need the Switch Washer and $4 less if you do NOT need the Toggle Switch Cap (also called Switch TIP).

  • Please make an offer with a message stating that you do not need any of these items. You can also message me if you prefer that these details be edited in listing.

Also - please message me if you need a jack plate. Available for sale upon request - I have a variety of new and used genuine Gibson jacks plates (+ screws if needed) for you to chose from. Prices vary based on condition and material made (plastic vs metal).

Here is the link of the Gibson The Hawk parted out guitar that this control harness is from (provided as a reference - it's my listing - this item sold a while ago -- I do not have any more items from this guitar):

The control harness was tested and it works fine.

NOTE:

  • Even though this control harness is from a 1997 Gibson The Hawk electric guitar -- you might be able to install this control harness on a Gibson (or even Epiphone) LP Special - or on another brand / model guitar that has a similar design and that has a flat top (NOT carved / NOT curved top).
  • Also - if you are looking at this listing - then you probaly know what the possibilities of it can be (or cannot be) for the guitar that you want to put it in.

NOTE:

  • May be (I'm not 100% sure) - it you change the short straight 3 position toggle switch to a long straight switch - you can put this control harness on a carved top / curved top guitar that used two controls.

Please message me to see more pictures of this item - just let me know what you want to see.

All sides of the silver outer shell (the round part of the pot) and the legs and contact parts of both pots have surface oxidation (which is a lot of surface cloudiness). Even though these pots are from 1997 - this oxidation / cloudiness give the pots / this control harness an even more vintage look to them / it.

NOTE: The split part (the gap) on the stem of both pots have a small piece of paper in it (you can easily remove this paper).

I put Deox-IT contact cleaner in the pots and in the switch.

Both potentiometers (pots) are Gibson potentiometers. You can partially see the Gibson logo on the back side of the pots. And you can see the part # of the pots on the sides (SEE pictures # 14, # 15, # 16, and # 17).

Below are the Gibson part numbers (on each pot) and the values. The numbers are NOT dates.

The upper pot (potentiometer / control) -- which is the one with the brown wire and with the silver braided wire attached to it -- is marked:

  • 66-44070028 (< this is a Gibson part number)
  • this is a short shaft "volume" pot, 300K linear

The lower pot (potentiometer / control) -- which is the one with the two brown wires, the silver braided wire, and the big orange capacitor attached to it -- is marked:

  • 66-44070035 (< this is a Gibson part number)
  • this is a short shaft "tone" pot, 500K audio

The Big Orange CAPACITOR -- It is fine / clean. SEE picture # 11 for the info on it (as well as to se it's condition).

The OUT JACK is mostly fine, The main metal contact part -- where the cable touches (cable NOT included) has a couple of light / very light hair-line scratches and a few tiny nicks. The washers and nut are fine / clean.

The 3 POSITION TOGGLE SWITCH itself is very clean. It works fine. The round nut with the ridges is fine / clean. The top side of the flat washer has some surface discoloration / some tiny - very small markings -- but still kind of clean.

The SWITCH TIP is fine / very clean. It fits on the stem of the switch fine.

The SWITCH WASHER is new in package. The switch washer itself is in A+ shape.

  • The packaging is fine with very light shelf wear (a few minor - but visible - imperfections on the side of the paper part. And both sides of the paper part have very light surface cloudy spots/ cloudy lines and a few very small shiny spot/ fingerprints. The clear plastic baggie is fine.

The WIRES are fine. They are on the parts (that they attach to) fine.

  • This control harness will be pack so the the parts / wires will not un-attach.
  • However - if they do un-attach - please refer to the pictures. I'll take some more pictures to have on hand - in case you need to view how things are connected, etc. Please do not hesitate to message me if necessary.

There are two long pieces of BLACK WIRE INSULATION (that are over the long areas of the silver braided wires). For one of these piece -- the one the silver braided wire that connects the two pots -- has a very small not too light / not too deep silver color nick. You can see this nick in picture # 12. Feel free to ask for a close-up picture of this area.

I took pictures several pictures of the items on the control harness and there are a few pictures of the new in package switch washer. Feel free to ask for more pictures.

Please message me if you need other  genuine Gibson  parts -- I have a bunch of new / packaged and used (conditions vary) genuine Gibson parts.  Little by little - I will be listing them on REVERB - but if you message me - I can arrange to do a transaction.

NOTE:   There may be a some imperfections that I overlooked.   There are a few imperfections that can be seen in person that do not appear in the pictures.  Also  - there are some imperfections (glares dust / lint specks) that show up in the pictures that are not that visible in person.

NOTE:  there maybe some things - like dust specks /glares / cloudiness that show up in the pictures that are not visible when looking at this item in person.
