About This Listing

Up for sale we have a 1966 Mosrite Ventures model with newer Mosrite hardshell case. The body has been professionally refinished in Metallic Gold nitrocellulose lacquer, the neck retains its original factory finish. The guitar is in very good used condition and shows very little cosmetic wear, maybe a small ding here and there if you're really looking up close but overall a nice clean guitar that looks and plays great. Structurally sound with no cracks, breaks or repairs. The Mosrite Ventures model features a 24 3/4" scale length, solid double-cutaway, Offset waist body, with German carved top, bolt-on Maple neck, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with micro dot inlaid fret markers, 22 frets (not including zero fret), a pair of excellent sounding single-coil pickups with black Mosrite of California branded covers, master tone and volume controls, 3-way pickup selector switch, Mosrite Moseley vibrato tailpiece with adjustable roller bridge and double-line Kluson tuners. The bound neck features a fast slim D-shape profile with flat spine and measures .79" deep at the first fret and .80" deep at the twelfth fret. Width at the original aluminum nut measures 1 9/16". The original small frets show some play wear with very flat crowns and not much height, but they did come new with very small and low frets. With that said the neck plays great up and down the fretboard with nice and low action, notes ring clean and clear with no dead spots or buzzing. The truss rod is accessible at the headstock and functions as it should. The guitar weighs in at 8 lbs, 7 oz. There is a 2 3/4" wide patch on the body beneath the lacquer that runs outwards from under the bridge. The area appears to have possibly been a route that was filled before the new finish was sprayed. The area is ever so slightly raised but does not affect the solidity or seating of the bridge and does not affect playability in any way. The guitar includes a newer Mosrite branded hardshell case and will be professionally packed with care. Thanks so much for looking.
